There are several ways to achieve a Comic Style on an Image.

Base Image used for this tutorial:


Versio One:
Open the image you would like to work on. Double Click on Base Layer to unlock. Dublicate Baselayer.

Use Filter >Blur> Gaussion Blur> Setting at 4.9 (you can play with the setting). Image will appear like this:

Blend Top Layer with Base Layer. Use Blend "Darken". The result will look like this. The lighter the image is, the stronger will be the comic effect.


Versio One:
This is the simplest of all ways to do it. Access the base layer. Choose Filter> Artistic > Lighten.

Play with the setting until the image looks like you want it to. this is my result:


Versio Three:
Open the image you would like to work on. Double Click on Base Layer to unlock. Dublicate Baselayer.

Use Filter > Sketch > Torn Edges on Top Layer

Change Layer Blend to a Blend that you like. This one is Multiply 100%.

This one is Hard Light 87%.
