For Photoshop 7.0

Once you created a graphic, texture, or whatever, that you want to use as a brush, you have to get the brush into your brush-list, so when you press on the Brush or the Eraser Tool in your Tool bar, the new brush is at your disposal.

To achive this click (Edit>Define Brush).

When the name dialog box appears, give your brush any name you want.

The name you gave the brush is of no consequence

The Brush is now an icon in your brush menu. You can use it right away and do not need to restart Photoshop or anything. It doesn't disappear if you close the programm, only if a system failure shuts it down or the programm doesn't respond for other reasons.

Now all you have to do is select the brush tool (see right) and then select your brush from the Brush menu,so you can use it for your graphics.

ATTENTION!
Be careful not to RESET BRUSHES in the brush menu palette. Once you do that and have not saved the Brush(es) you created as .abr file, the brush(es) will be gone.

The same will happen if you choose one of the Brush sets in the same list.
