Creating Brushable images
in Photoshop 7.0 is quite simple.
Open the image you want to change into a brush.
Then click Image>Mode>Grayscale
in the top bar.
Use the curves tool to change the contrast and brightness of the image:
Image>
Adjustments> Curves
Then Tweak the Curve in the PopUp
to look the way you like it.
My final result is this. I inverted the image and used the curve again.
You can also star by creating a new Photoshop file (the default there
is psd). The best way to do it is to is either to create the image using
*Grayscale* (
File>New) or to do it after you created the psd File. (Example:
Image>Mode>Grayscale)
ATTENTION:
If you converted an image to Grayscale it affects all layers. So if you
want to have color in the image and only one layer in greyscale, you have
to change the mode to RGB before you paste in a colored image.
